We took a billion photos in Taiwan but I can only post half of them up today coz there are too many to do all in one post!
So we’d better get a move on it. If not I’ll be doing OT just posting photos.
Because we are all last minute packers, we were all damn stoned when we met at the airport at 11am. HAHA.
Had some good ol’ Popeye’s before heading off to Taiwan!!

HELLO TAIWAN!!
So exciting. ☺
By the time we reached it was like 6.30 already I think.
EVA air is damn zai! Better than Cathay Pac coz the legroom is super generous. Although, Eva’s plane food is yech…NOT good.

Chartered a van to get us to our hotel.
Clarice is how resourceful la! HAHA. Heng we didn’t have to take the public bus.

Hee. Crooked fingers!!

Reached our hotel safely and with lots of time to spare! ☺
Our hotel was called WON STAR but the logo on all the towels and notepads and stuff said ONE STAR. HAHA. Lynn thinks they changed their name coz they realized ‘ONE STAR’ doesn’t sound too good…that’s what happens when people try to act ang moh. LOL.

Only one room was ready, so we dumped all our bags there first and headed out immediately to…
XI MEN DING!

Which is actually where we’re staying la.
At Xi Men Ding, we zoomed straight in on the Ah Zhong mian xian.
Totally famous although I’d never heard of it before the trip.

See how crowded it is!!

It is super hard to eat coz everybody has to stand up and eat.
How to hold a big, hot, heavy bowl of noodles in one hand and eat with the other right!!! Must really put in a lot of effort to eat man.

As you can see from the 2 spoons in my bowl, I was sharing my noodles with Damon at first. While sharing I was like, ‘EH. Why am I sharing with the tallest person here? He’s holding the bowl so high! So hard to reach!’
So we all did some shifting around, and I ended up sharing the bowl with Yifeng instead.
Totally no difference. -_-“ HAHA.

Ooh look at that! All efforts gone into eating this awesome bowl of goodness are totally not wasted at all.
It’s heaven in a bowl, even if heaven is made up of pig intestines and mee sua.

After the famous mee sua, we headed down to the even more famous…

SHILIN MARKET!

The famous Crispy Chicken! Queue was SUPERRRRR long……

Mega HUGE Taiwan sausage -

Lynn and I LOVE the 大肠包小肠 (Big Sausage wrap Small Sausage). Wah I’m hungry thinking about it. It’s kind of a Taiwan style hotdog with the Taiwan sausage inside with kiam chye relish and a glutinous rice bun. YUM-MY!! -

Oyster omelette with way too much starch (I didn’t even know there was such a thing as TOO much starch in oyster omelette. I usually love the starchy bits) and some meat sauce over rice dish that Rice likes. -

Smelly Toufu!!! YuM. -

Baks apparently doesn’t like smelly tofu -

Dessert! The ice is super thinly shaven, kinda like the new stall at far east plaza. -

And then we went prawning!! Hah so fun!!
It’s not like the Singapore kinda prawning, over there you gotta hook them from their tails and raise them up without the line breaking.
So the stall earns money from the number of lines you break.

Fishing works the same way! Gotta catch the fish using a net made out of tracing paper. TOTALLY not possible…that was what I thought until the uncle showed us how to do it. I think he must have practiced 2 years to be able to do it lor…it really is almost impossible to catch a fish using that net! Hmph.

In the end we only managed to catch 4 prawns, but the Aunty BBQ-ed 6 for us…one for each person –

The prawns took super long to die coz the fire wasn’t very hot.
I felt so poor thing for them lor. ☹
I swear they were struggling on the fire for at least 5 mins. Sigh.
So in the end I didn’t want to eat my prawn...coz too poor thing already.
Baks was our treasurer for the trip so the girls bought him a nice lil’ pouch to keep all our money -

HAHA he was super sian when he saw it.
Everywhere we went he had to take this out to foot the bill. HAHA. Damn paiseh.
Hey it was either this or another pouch with hearts all over.
So of course this is the lesser of 2 evils right.
We were all super tired after the long day out

Tired and DIRTY! Haha.

Wearing slippers is so sian coz the streets are REALLY VERY DIRTY.
-_-
When we got back to the Xi Men Ding station, there were all these cool posters around, so we started having some fun with them! ☺

This is cool -

DAY TWOooOoOoo…
Day 2 was the only day we managed to wake up bright and early.
We even went downstairs to have breakfast first before setting out!
Amazing.
Ok so day two was for Dan Shui.
Us at Taipei Main Station -

The boys very AA. Wear until SO bright!

All leashed up. Damon always likes to wear this kinda linglinglonglongs around. I tried wearing it for 5 minutes and couldn’t take it already!
Super heavy and troublesome. It’s like a bicycle chain slapping against my thigh. HAHA. Then again, maybe you’re not supposed to wear it with shorts.

Dan Shui is like this seaside town that has all this food and old school shops.
So we kinda ate from the time that we reached there till the time we left. Really non-stop eating.
This is the super long ice cream! I remember seeing it in Devil Beside You when Mike He bought it for that irritating girl. HAHA. So I had to have one.

Rice’s favourite sotong ball. Better than any sotong ball you can find in Singapore. Sompah.

It’s like this taukwa pocket with tanghoon inside. Woo! Nice!
I love tanghoon!

Some fun stuff from the old school mama shop -

I love this drink! I don’t think you can find it in Singapore already.
It’s the one where you gotta pop a ball in in order to open it. I think if I told my brother about this drink, he wouldn’t even know what it is already.

We were all SUPER shag after the long day out walking about in the rain.

Dinner!!

After dinner, we all walked around Xi Men Ding on our own.
Rice and Damon went shopping on their own,
Aaron and Yifeng Da Bao-ed Ah Zhong mian xian back to the room to eat,
Lynn and I walked with the boys to buy their stuff before walking around on our own.
Then we all met back at the hotel to get ready for LUXY!
(Woohoo Luxy!!)

Look at those pants man!!! HAHA they’re so BIGGGGG.
Damon bought them for his grunge-dancer-hip-hop look.
Can you say Mudder HUGE!!!
Had to save money, so we took a train down to Luxy -

a>

We had a Jacuzzi in our room (actually the bathtub doubled up as a Jacuzzi) so we all took turns to use the Jacuzzi before going out that night.
Lynn and I used it first coz we got back to the hotel before Rice. Rice used it later and realized that you can actually adjust the Jacuzzi power.
Look what happened:

HAHA we think she adjusted the power until SUPER low and then leaned directly onto the spout. HAHA. It looks like she went to the sinseh that does the cup suction thing!
FUNNY! The marks weren’t even gone by the time we left Taiwan ok.
Poor rice. Haha.
LUXY!

Luxy girls dancing on the bartop! It’s safe to say that this was the best part of the night for the guys. Especially since they got front row seats.
Aftermath -

Not too bad.
The girls did a good job, the guys were plain lousy just because there were hot Luxy girls with free tequila going around.
Super no self control.
HAHA.
And with that, day 2 came and went quickly.
It was good!
Will post pics from days 3-5 another day!
In the meantime…
Let me complain about something.
I ABSOLUTELY (font size 60, ctrl+U, ctrl+B) can’t stand people who keep pressing the close door button in the lift.
I can’t stand it when:
1. They press the button when someone is still coming in.
2. They press the button repeatedly even when the door is already closing. Like pressing the button more will make it close faster.
Hmph. Idiots. I totally saw an aunty doing that in the lift today.
She was pressing the close button non-stop. And it doesn’t help that this action is always accompanied with an impatient ‘TSK’.
I promise that the next time someone does that, I’m going to ask ‘what’s your problem’.
I WILL I WILL I WILL!
Ok la, I’ll do it if there are not many people in the lift.
And if I think that the person is not big enough to beat me up.
I WILL I WILL I WILL.
OK till next time yo! ☺
