And boy, was it good.

Itazura na Kiss!
HAHAHA.
Ok I’m throwing in a few of the book covers for good measure.

I was so crazy over it that on my birthday, Kris got me the entire series of manga, all 23 books, and my school friends got me the Japanese drama version VCD set.

You know how secondary school trends go, they're all about swooning. hahahaha.
And Zi Shu is definitely swoon-worthy ok! He is so cute!!!! I was totally in love with him.
Although it really is weird that we were all swooning over a cartoon character. Hmm.
That's why when the drama came out, it was a very very huge thing for us.

The drama came out on TV when I was in Secondary School. And during those days, I wasn’t allowed to watch TV. So I couldn’t watch it when it played at primetime at 8pm every night. So I would go to bed and then wake up at 3am every morning to catch the repeat. After the one hour episode, I would go back to bed and wake up at 6.30am the next day for school.
That is hardcore, people. Hardcore.
But I read the whole manga series, how can I not watch the drama right???
Especially when the male lead (Takashi Kashiwabara who played Irie Naoki) was so cute!
HeHe

Ok I know he doesn’t look cute now. But hand-over-my-heart I promise you that what you see up there was VERY IN in the 90s.
*swoon*
Anyways, a few years after the Japanese version came out, a Taiwanese version came out.
Fen asked me to watch it but I said nah….coz the Taiwanese male lead wasn’t so cute, and Ariel Lin is not what I imagine the female lead to look like.
But recently, I’ve started to watch the Taiwanese version

It’s not bad la. It’s more true to the book. Although I don’t understand how Ah Jin (Jiro Wang) can look better than Zi Shu (Joe Cheng). -_-“
So off.
I’m only on episode 2 so I hope it gets better as I watch more episodes. If not, I might just give up halfway.
Oh and while searching for images for this post, I chanced upon an animated version of the series!!!!

O
M
G
!!!!
This is so great!!!!
Coz neither the Japanese version of the Taiwanese version can do justice to either Zi Shu or Qing Zi, so I really want to watch the animated version.
I even gave Sandy the link to the first episode to try and get him hooked on it so he’ll watch with me.
Hahahahaha.
This is the first episode of the anime:
And this is the first episode of the Taiwanese version:
Ok watch it if you have time!
Or better yet, you should so read the manga.
I mean, it’s so good that even Tash read the manga ok!! TASHA ANN!
She doesn’t even read Chinese lor, she just looked at the pictures. Hahahaha.
So it has to be good, right?
Yiwen: Babe! Do you still have my Japanese version VCD set? Can’t remember if it’s still with you! =/
