Hello Monday!
It’s a gloomy gloomy Monday morning and I love it.
I busied myself over the weekend with some sun.sand.sea, some screeching (read: kBoxing) and a whole lotta good food. Can you say gastronomical delights? A weekend well spent! I’ll be posting pictures from the weekend soon so stay tuned!
Anyways a rundown of how the weekend went anyways.
Saturday was spent celebrating Deb’s 22nd birthday at sunny Sentosa! In attendance: Deb.theMah.Tash.sD.Me. It was so fun! We actually kinda sorta played volleyball.hahaha..which is really amazing because when sD messaged me saying ‘i’ll bring the volleyball!’ I was all ‘my girls do NOT play balls on the beach’. But Tash’s SMU track team dreams motivated her to at least play some ball to get in shape, so we all had fun running around playing volleyball and some soccermonkey.
Sunday was spent doing a little bit of shopping with the family in good ol’ Orchard and then I headed down to cineleisure for some kBoxing with sD.Jiting.Jiale.SiongQun.Meiling.Ryan.Yikit. They sang so many songs that I didn’t know!! But it was all good…I sang all the Jay Chou and David Tao songs. =) Thank God for me not being able to study without a Chinese song droning in the background..if not I wouldn’t know any Chinese songs at all.
A random musing:
When I was in the US I told Kris, “Kris, I’m going to count the number of people with Starbucks in their hands k?” and I tried to, I really did. But I couldn’t keep up! Haha..
Even the beggar on the side of the street had a Starbucks cup sitting next to him [WTH!!!].
It’s pretty cool though, walking to work with a Starbucks in hand. I guess it’s kind of a lifestyle there. Even when I was with Aaron, Lynn and Robert, we were constantly buying coffee (read: Starbucks), but we were really poor so we would buy a huge cup and just share coz it’s costs like what US$4+? Which is like 6 Singapore smackeroos here.
So I’m writing this coz when I got back here I was so determined to look professionally cosmopolitan that I told myself I would buy a Starbucks and walk to work one day. I would so be strutting in my heels, carrying those cool paper cups and being all business-like. But then that dream became pretty off for obvious reasons. Hahaha…aiyaaa I still carry my coffee cup to work though, in fact it’s sitting on my table right now. Except this one’s only 80 cents from the Malay stall downstairs. Frugality is a virtue k. With all the money that I’m saving from not having expensive coffee I could really have myself a shopping spree at Bugis Street. Coffee or clothes? It’s preeeedy obvious right…=)
Yep so that was my Monday musing.
Back to freezing in the office. Laters.
