I just had a great epiphanic moment today..ok not so much a great epiphanic moment, more like a 'woah' moment. I was just blog surfing just now, surfing blogs of people who i don't even know personally... we're not even acquaintances, not even hi-bye friends, not even hey-you-look-somewhat-familiar-like-i've-walked-with-you-once-upon-a-dream-in-a-sleeping-beauty-way friends. Ooh freaky. Are you thinking 'was she reading my blog?' now? Well that would be a fantastic irony right. A situation in which both parties are reading each other's blogs without each knowing - there is seriously a hollywood-type blockbuster script somewhere in there. Something along the lines of You've Got Mail, or worse still, [insert some perv movie coz i don't watch perv movies although there's seriously gotta be some perv movie revolving around the sinister (and pervy) cyberworld]. So i was thinking..blogs were the best invention ever when they came out circa 2002(?) but now it's like you really can't write anything about anything no more coz you really never know who is reading your blog! It's like how sometimes i read a blog and laugh my guts out over the content (laughing at, mind you, not with) and sometimes i read a blog and think 'woah, aren't you just the best blogger in the world'..yea those are basically the two reasons i re-visit blogs of people i don't know well.
Ok and at this very moment i'm thinking that this realization is not a radical new perspective into the already ancient (in tech terms) blogosphere. It's just that i think i've never realized it for myself coz i've never been one to blog surf. I used to hold a very stubborn oh-what's-the-point view on the whole matter. Why read about people you don't even know right? that was all until boredom hit me like how Jen should have hit Angie. And hey reading about other people is really not so bad after all. =)
So armed with my new personal epiphany i am going to continue surfing blogs like a mad dog on the loose, firstly, because it's my newfound hobby and more importantly, because it'd be the coolest thing in the world if you're reading this and you don't know that i'm actually talking about you.
