anyway to give you the quick synonpsis of it without spoiling fun:
jim carey is joel barish, who leads uber boring life until he meets kate winslet a.k.a. clementine (oh my darlin, oh my darlin, oh my darlin clementine)..who obviously as you would expect it, is the total opposite of joel (pronounced as jole by the way). but that weensy cliche of a flaw is forgiven when the rest of the story is laid out. The movie almost literally throws you into a blurred division between living in the mind and living in the tangible. meaning you are actually living in your brain, you can jump from memory to memory and you can think and live and move in your brain seperate from your mortal, tangible self. this is not even fantasy and reality, these are two realities that are combined together to form a sublime, gothic idea of having schizo realities coexisting.
but i'm jumping ahead of myself. i'm not giving you the normal synopsis coz u can read that anywhere. but i should at least give u the backbone of the story. k all this above happens because after joel and clementine break up, he realises that clementine seems to not remember him anymore, he is as if a complete stranger, estranged from her..he then realises that it's because she's been to lacuna inc where she erased him from his memory....noe he wants to do the same..but in the course of erasing her, as he revisits the memories stored up, he realises that he doesn't want to erase her! (hah! men.) so he tries to escape the erasing..but can he?? muahahhaa....u'll have to watch to find out.
the newspapers were rite in that the conclusion to such an awesome story was a bit disappointing, u can picture the director almost grappling to find an appropriate conclusion!..but still..it was fantastic!!! go watch!!!! =)
