We celebrated Bak’s birthday at Sushi Tei at Takashimaya and then headed over to Red Dot Brewhouse at Dempsey for drinks.
Sushi Tei was freakin crowded OK!!!! Omg. We waited like an hour before we got seats. Luckily they have this thing whereby you leave your name and number and they’ll call you when your seat’s ready. Which is better than waiting there I suppose. But by the time we started eating, it was like 8+ already. *faint*
AND ON TOP OF THAT, when we started eating, the birthday boy hadn’t even arrived yet!!!! I know, what’s new? Last year we planned to celebrate Bak’s birthday with Haur Bin’s birthday so that even if he pang seh-ed his own party, we can still celebrate Haur Bin’s. HAHA.
This year, however, we failed to make such wet weather plans coz Bak’s has been quite good in not pang seh-ing.
So eventually half an hour later, after we almost finished eating…
[OK DIGRESSION: At Sushi Tei, we ate this thing called the Collagen Hotpot. Which actually I thought was a really gross name for a dish. I mean calling something a Collagen-anything is rather gross. But it’s supposedly healthy so we ordered it. And when it came, I expected the collagen to be infused into the soup or something but NOoOoOOoooO…there were two huge slabs of shark collagen sitting there, melting into the soup. Eeeww!!! I thought that was really weird. Anyways, I tried the collagen and it was tasteless and milky at the same time. Ugh. It made the soup milkier though which I guess was pretty nice. Eh I do know I’m contradicting myself. But I like!
I like milky soup but I don’t like milk itself. Yea. Sandy gets quite confused with how my likes and dislikes get quite specific like that. He says that I should just like or dislike in categories so it’s easier for him to remember. LOL.]
....So after we almost finished eating, stoopid baks turned up.
AND HE HAD ALREADY HAD DINNER!!!
Wah. Lau. Eh.
Anyways, after dinner, we headed down to Red Dot Brewhouse at Dempsey.
Damn nice place!
It is quite ironic how it is Aaron’s birthday and yet he’s taking picture for the rest of us. HAHA.
So I decided to make him feel less punished and more special by taking him alone.
And then while we were seated, Aaron took a supposedly artistic shot of me, which I actually think is damn unglam…
…And then when I realized that he was taking I posed properly and he totally did not take a good photo lor! -_-
All of us again (without Aaron):
See our green beer! HAHA so funny right!!
It’s actually very nice...i like!! And one whole tower is only $60, which is super worth it. =)
Everytime we go chill, Baks would have to work the next day.
Not that day though! Next day public holiday so no work!
And then Lynn and I totally managed to surprise Aaron with a birthday cake!!
Yay us!!
Actually Aaron is totally blur because we were discussing with the waiter about the plan right in front of him lor. BLUR like sotong.
Red Dot was very nice! They agreed to keep the cake for us even though their kitchen was closing at 10pm. =)
And then at EXACTLY (I am NOT kidding…EXACTLY ok!) 12am, they brought the cake out, only to find that stupid Baks had gone to the toilet!!! Argh!!
So we were like ‘Nononononono!! Bring it back! He went to the toilet!!’
And they were all ‘OH NO!!!’ while stepping backwards and waving out the candle in case he happened to come back and spoil the surprise!
But in the end it worked out perfectly! They knew who the birthday was already so they managed to creep up behind him and surprise him.
Cool. Banana Tiramisu cake. I thought it was rather shiok.
Oh and did I mention that Red Dot has a basketball court complete with basketball behind??? Haha. Rather cool!
Baks, Siao, Lynn and I decided to play for a while until we started knocking plant pots over. So don’t forget to check that out if you ever happen to go! It’s kinda hidden behind so you really will miss it if you’re not sharp.
Ok that’s all for my birthday post!!
Celebrating Damon’s one this Saturday at Holland V! yay! Mexican!
Can’t blardy wait. :)
