she realized that she was standing at the edge of a precipice. looking back she saw no one. total seclusion. with cautious, deliberate movement, she turned back towards the unending abyss, as if any sudden movement would disrupt the magnificence of the place. gazing into the blackness she was almost certain she saw the shadows of tranquility...serenity. liberty. she edged slowly further off the edge, knowing that submitting to the drop would not grant her the things she yearned for. she knew it was all deception..yet..there was an alarming allure..a sublime force....
she balanced on the edge of the precipice, tilting back and forth and back and forth and back and back, having her sense resume it's governing place. she slowly retreated from the edge, feeling a certain disappointment...
she was falling. fear gripped her and dragged her down, further and further into the darkness. with everything she had she struggled, gripping air in her desperation..but who can resist fear when he's got such a tight grip on you?
she looked up, back to the precipice, trying to make out who had so brutally and mercilessly shoved her off the edge....
and squinting in the sun, she unmistakably made out the all too familiar reflection of herself. crying.
